5 Creative Ways to Give Jewelry

Most women are thrilled to receive jewelry, especially around the holidays… wait, I take that back…ANYTIME! A little sparkle, a lot of shimmer, and her eyes will light up whether it’s a ring, necklace, pendant, or bracelet. Still, sometimes the ideas people have for presenting jewelry are less than “polished.” As you are preparing to give some beautiful jewelry and gems for the holidays, the following tips can help add some romance and flair.

  •  Do NOT put a ring, or other jewelry, in the food she is going to eat, or beverage she is going to drink. First, yuck! Who wants to eat a doughnut with a necklace cooked into it? Or drink champagne that has had a ring soaking in the bubbles? More importantly, you don’t want to take a chance of the beautiful bauble being swallowed.
  • If you want to give the gift as part of a special meal, put the wrapped box under a covered dish, or on a plate that has a special message written on it in icing.
  • For the holidays, get a clear ornament at a craft store and put the jewelry inside. You can hang it on a tree, from the ceiling, on a rearview mirror…. The options are endless! For a little extra pizazz, put some metallic confetti or streamers in the bottom and then the jewelry.
  • Many craft stores have a variety of unique boxes and items you can put the jewelry in. Pick something that either represents her style, or that relates to something special to both of you. Chinese food boxes, a giant seashell, a small treasure chest, empty paint cans, gumball machines, and countless acrylic containers of all shapes and sizes.
  • For a whimsical twist, put it on a stuffed animal. Buy a new one so she doesn’t overlook it, and make sure it is one she would like, or at least one that is cute. If you are giving her a ring or bracelet that doesn’t fit, tie it on with some nice ribbon.

There is nothing wrong with nicely wrapping the box the jewelry comes in, after all – the REAL surprise is inside. But if you are looking to incorporate a little extra into the presentation, a little creativity can go a long way.
